Job Summary
The Big Conversation is a pivotal initiative led by the LSE Students' Union (LSESU) for the 2026/27 enrollment period. As part of our innovative approach to supporting students, we collect and analyse large volumes of survey data during the enrolment period. This involves transforming complex survey responses into structured datasets that enable personalised communications and tailored support throughout Welcome and beyond.
We use a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods to develop a deep understanding of students' early experiences, needs and expectations. These insights help us enhance our services, identify and address communication gaps, and provide evidence-based recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders across LSE.
All successful candidates will sign a confidentiality agreement, undergo comprehensive GDPR training, and receive ongoing support throughout the project.
Who are we looking for
This role is ideal for curious analysts, perhaps early in their career, interested in working for charity, non-profit, or political organisations. Applicants who can work at pace, ask and answer interesting questions about the data in front of them, and who demonstrate a high level of computer literacy and use of the programming language Python are perfect for this role. Your ability to extract key messages from your insights for a variety of stakeholders will be essential, as well as being able to work flexibly in a small team.
The data and insight leg of the project will run from September 18th until mid November. We are happy to offer flexibility with this role so you can work around your studies, and there may also be an opportunity to extend your role as a Data and Insight Assistant after the Big Conversation project is over.
Why apply
Apply because you are driven by impact and excited by challenge. We are the opposite of ‘corporate’ – we are a team of progressive, daring, and creative individuals dedicated to making a tangible difference in an unconventional, high-energy workplace.
