• Specialist mental health inpatient care for individuals with learning disabilities, alongside specialist community support for children and adults with learning disabilities and autism, including intensive support.
• Extensive community physical health and well-being services for children and adults, covering prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and long-term condition management.

We are looking for Registered Mental Health Nurses to work on a Female Acute Mental Health Ward. We are looking for forward thinking nurse to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity, and the successful candidate will be part of an evolving service that has the needs of our female patients at its heart. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic to come and join a forward thinking, dynamic and a constantly developing team. Main duties of the job

You will be a Nurse working within a multi-disciplinary team and carry out a diverse range of duties. As a Band 5 Nurse within the team you will be regularly supported and supervised by a nominated Band 6 Nurse Specialist and you will be encouraged to take personal responsibility for clinical supervision and your continued professional development plan.

You will undertake a period of preceptorship overseen by a named Band 6 Nurse Specialist within your team and engage on the trusts Preceptorship programme.

You will actively promote teamwork, respect, integrity, accountability, excellence and compassion within the clinical team in accordance with the Trust values and Code of Conduct. You are required to maintain links with your professional body and provide evidence for the revalidation process.
You will provide nurse leadership within the multi-disciplinary team and ensure the effective assessment, formulation, planning and monitoring of care given to service users.

You will be required to offer clinical and managerial leadership to junior Health Care Staff and Student Nurses as part of your role within the team. You may be required to take on tasks that require you to operate electronic staffing record systems, authorising periods of leave, sickness and absence for junior nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Registered Mental Health Nurse Qualification. (RNMH & RNLD) or a student nurse nearing qualification
• On-going registration with the NMC
• Evidence of Continued Professional Development that supports clinical practice

Knowledge

• Can demonstrate an understanding and knowledge base of mental health conditions and their treatments
• Can demonstrate a working knowledge of physical health conditions and the complications that this can cause to patients experiencing mental ill health

Experience

• Post Graduate experience or be a student nurse nearing qualification
• Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team structure.
• Experience of assessing, planning, implementing and reviewing care needs
