As UK Account Manager – Public Sector, you will be responsible for achieving sales targets across an assigned public sector territory, managing customer relationships directly and driving new and existing account growth. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Owning and developing sales activity across assigned UK public sector accounts
  • Selling directly to government and public sector customers, even where business is fulfilled through channel partners
  • Building strong relationships across multiple stakeholder levels within target accounts
  • Understanding each customer's business, technical environment, operational challenges, and procurement process
  • Positioning relevant solutions around network visibility, cybersecurity, service assurance, and performance management
  • Developing and maintaining a strong pipeline of new and existing account opportunities
  • Prospecting consistently across both new and established accounts
  • Working closely with Sales Engineers to ensure effective technical positioning and ongoing customer support
  • Managing complex sales cycles from initial engagement through to close
  • Ensuring all activity follows company sales processes, policies, ethical standards, and revenue recognition requirements
  • Maintaining accurate forecasting, account planning, and opportunity management
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams and partners to support successful customer outcomes
  • Following company strategy and contributing to wider public sector growth plans

Key Requirements

  • You will be an experienced public sector technology sales professional with a strong background in networking, cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, service assurance, or related enterprise technology solutions.
  • 5+ years' sales experience within networking, cybersecurity, infrastructure, or enterprise IT solutions
  • 5+ years' experience within the IT industry
  • Proven experience selling into UK public sector, central government, local government, or related public bodies
  • A strong understanding of complex government sales cycles, procurement processes, and stakeholder engagement
  • A demonstrable track record of consistent quota achievement and territory growth
  • Proven ability to develop and manage a strong sales pipeline, ideally around 4x quota coverage
  • Strong experience managing large, complex accounts directly
  • Ability to build trusted relationships across senior, technical, commercial, and operational stakeholders
  • Strong new business development skills, with the ability to identify, pursue, and close opportunities
  • Experience working collaboratively with Sales Engineers, channel partners, and internal technical teams
  • Strong understanding of the technology market, customer challenges, and enterprise buying processes
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to travel across the UK as required, with occasional wider travel if needed
  • A degree in Computer Science, Technology, Business, or a related field would be advantageous.
