The client is seeking an experienced Azure HCI/Azure Local Engineer to support the design, build, and standardisation of a hybrid infrastructure platform. This role requires deep, hands-on expertise in Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI), hybrid connectivity via Azure Arc, and enterprise-grade automation and identity patterns within a highly regulated environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering repeatable, secure, and automated hybrid infrastructure deployments, working closely with internal teams, enterprise networks, and potentially Microsoft engineering contacts.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and configure Azure Local/Azure Stack HCI environments
- Create and manage HCI clusters, including:
- Storage Spaces Direct (S2D)
- Software-Defined Networking (SDN)
- Hyper-V
- Azure ARM/Bicep (where applicable)
- Terraform
- Build patterns
- Configuration templates
- Operational runbooks
- Deep hands-on experience with Azure Local/Azure Stack HCI
- Strong experience in:
- HCI cluster creation and management
- S2D, SDN, and Hyper-V
- RBAC models
- Identity patterns
- Enterprise IAM
