The role of Trade Buyer:
- Own the purchasing function - keeping over 1,000 product lines stocked, priced right and moving
- Monitor stock levels and reorder points, acting fast to prevent gaps before they become problems
- Negotiate hard on pricing and terms with existing suppliers - and go looking for better ones
- Identify and bring on new suppliers to sharpen the supply chain and protect margin
- Work closely with the warehouse and sales teams to stay ahead of demand
- Maintain accurate records using the stock control system
