Role Purpose
This role acts as a business partner to the Inspection Division to develop and lead Nuclear Power Generation activities. It involves delivering high-quality customer experiences safely to clients, service delivery teams, support, sales, and leadership teams.
The role manages all accreditations related to Nuclear activities, actively participating in relevant committees to anticipate and plan for regulatory changes. As Nuclear Technical Manager within the Technical & Quality Governance (TQG), the role supports audits, manages the technical community, and participates in TQG meetings to ensure effective support for the business. It provides technical and quality leadership for all surveyors across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and govern service delivery processes and procedures.
- Support new applications, accreditations, approvals, and authorizations with technical and quality expertise.
- Assist internal and external customers with Nuclear inspection and assessment services, including export license applications.
- Establish procedures to meet regulatory requirements and improve authorization and training processes.
- Ensure day-to-day technical and quality oversight of Nuclear activities, maintaining a strong customer focus.
- Contribute to technical networks to enhance performance and responsiveness; recommend improvements where gaps are identified.
- Engage with operational teams to implement and improve quality aspects of service delivery, monitor activities, investigate complaints, and manage feedback.
- Collaborate with and challenge teams to support growth and technical governance, acting as a role model for technical development.
- Support training and mentoring of technical personnel, manage technical authorizations for employees and subcontractors.
- Pursue Continuing Professional Development to maintain high discipline knowledge.
- Represent LRQA at meetings, seminars, and trade committees.
- Seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; Chartered Engineer preferred.
- Experience leading technical advice, guidance, and arbitration internally and externally.
- Over four years of managing projects in the nuclear industry.
- Experience engaging with senior management and regulators.
- Contribute engineering expertise to conformity assessment, auditing, and inspection in nuclear.
- Knowledge of RCC-M and ASME III codes.
- Lead Auditor Qualification, familiar with ISO and ASME NQA standards.
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English, capable of leading support groups, managing audits, writing procedures, mentoring surveyors, and representing the business.
