The Commercial Data Executive is a commercial function role, sitting within LRQA's Sales organisation rather than the Data or Technology teams. The role is responsible for defining how commercial data should be structured and governed across LRQA's systems globally, using Dynamics 365 CRM as the foundation, and works closely with LRQA's Technical CRM Lead and central Data function to see this implemented. The role reports to the Group Sales Director and operates across all LRQA regions (UKI, AMER, APAC, EMEA, Greater China) and service lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Data Requirements – Define the commercial data structures and standards required within Dynamics 365 CRM, including attribution modelling, revenue-type classification and contract taxonomy, and work with LRQA's Technical CRM Lead to see these designed and built into the system.
- Data Governance & Standards – Define and enforce data standards, taxonomies and validation rules from a commercial perspective, so that commercial data is entered and used consistently across the business.
- CRM Data Projects – Lead ongoing commercial CRM data initiatives, partnering with the Technical CRM Lead on system design and delivery.
- Platform Implementation – Act as the commercial data SME during the implementation of new commercial systems, such as Marketing Automation and Revenue Intelligence platforms, defining requirements and working with technical teams to see them delivered correctly.
- Systems Integration – Define the commercial data requirements for how CRM and other commercial systems should connect and exchange data, working with technical stakeholders to avoid duplicate or conflicting sources of information.
- Platform Evaluation – Provide a commercial data perspective during evaluation of new commercial tools where platform decisions are still open.
- Data Quality & Automation – Identify and apply AI and automation tools to support data cleansing, deduplication, mapping and quality checks across commercial systems.
- Commercial Reporting Strategy – Define what commercial information different audiences need, how frequently, and in what format, and partner with LRQA's BI team to rationalise, correct and improve the existing Power BI reporting estate against these requirements.
- Process & Documentation – Establish repeatable, documented processes for maintaining commercial data quality on an ongoing basis, rather than relying on one-off clean-up projects.
- Stakeholder Partnership – Act as the key commercial partner to LRQA's Technical CRM Lead, BI team and central Data function, ensuring commercial requirements are clearly understood and reflected in system, data and reporting design.
What You'll Bring
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM data structures — entities, fields and relationships — sufficient to define requirements and work effectively with technical CRM and data teams.
- Experience with at least one other part of the commercial technology stack, such as Marketing Automation Platforms (e.g. Marketo, HubSpot, Pardot), Revenue Intelligence tools (e.g. Gong, Clari, Chorus) or CPQ.
- Experience acting as the commercial or business lead on a platform implementation project, partnering with technical teams to deliver it.
- Experience defining reporting or information requirements across different business audiences — what people need to know, how often, and in what format — rather than just building the reports directly.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, including taxonomy design and data quality management.
- Experience applying AI or automation tools to improve data quality, such as cleansing, deduplication and mapping.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience translating commercial requirements for technical and IT teams to implement.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple regions and business units without direct line authority.
- Strong attention to detail, with a preference for structured, systems-based work over reporting or analysis.
