We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Developer to join LRQAs Cyber Digital Strategy team, a programme building the next generation of secure intelligent digital products for our Cyber business. As a Senior Developer, you’ll play a key role in designing, developing and integrating scalable solutions across the Cyber portfolio including SOC automation, Pen Testing and Attack Surface Management. Working primarily with Python and React, you’ll contribute to the development of the LRQA Cyber Portal ensuring seamless integration, performance and secure operation across multiple digital touchpoints.
You’ll work closely with the Lead Developer, Product Delivery Lead and Product Owner to deliver features that are secure, maintainable and user-focused. You’ll bring a deep understanding of integrations and webhooks, applying them to connect systems and streamline services. This is a hands‑on role in a small high‑performing team where curiosity, collaboration and secure coding standards are essential. You’ll help shape development best practice, mentor junior developers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain high‑quality secure software solutions using Python and React.
- Implement and manage integrations using REST APIs and webhooks between internal and external systems.
- Ensure all code follows secure development practices and complies with LRQAs security standards.
- Collaborate with product architecture and DevOps teams to deliver reliable, scalable and maintainable systems.
- Contribute to CI / CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks to ensure code quality and fast, safe deployment.
- Participate actively in agile ceremonies (sprint planning and retrospectives) to ensure delivery alignment and transparency.
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work closely with the Lead Developer and cross‑functional teams (Product BA QA Architecture) to translate requirements into actionable technical solutions.
- Conduct and participate in peer code reviews, promoting quality and consistency across the codebase.
- Mentor and support junior developers, providing guidance on coding techniques, tooling and secure coding standards.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Take ownership of software quality by writing clean, modular and well‑documented code.
- Contribute to the refinement and enforcement of team coding standards, testing practices and development methodologies.
- Investigate and resolve complex issues, identifying root causes and delivering sustainable solutions.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks and security practices relevant to modern web and API development.
About You
- Proven experience as a software developer ideally within agile product or digital transformation teams.
- Experience in Python and proficient in React – experience in both is ideal.
- Experience designing and integrating REST APIs, webhooks and working with data securely across systems.
- Solid understanding of secure coding principles and experience implementing them within development pipelines.
- Experience working with CI / CD pipelines and modern DevOps tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or similar).
- Familiarity with containerisation and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; able to simplify complexity and take initiative.
- Collaborative team player who enjoys working in an agile fast‑paced environment.
- A natural curiosity for learning and improving both personal and team capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable explaining technical detail to non‑technical stakeholders.
