This role supports the delivery and continuous improvement of the Business Continuity and Resilience programme across LRQA. You will help ensure alignment with ISO and recognised best practice such as the Good Practice Guidelines. Reporting to the Business Continuity and Resilience Manager within the Information Security Team, this is a global role covering all LRQA business units and provides an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a growing area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance and ongoing maturity of the Business Resilience Management System, ensuring it meets client expectations, regulatory obligations, and industry best practice within an evolving threat landscape.
  • Assist in the development, management, and improvement of business resilience policies, frameworks, and plans, working closely with resilience pillars (Technology, Information Security, Facilities, Suppliers and Business Lines) to meet organisational and client objectives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business areas and senior leaders, providing guidance and expertise to ensure Business Resilience is effectively embedded into business processes.
  • Support the planning and delivery of assurance activities, awareness initiatives, and scenario-based exercises to test the effectiveness of business continuity and crisis management arrangements.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to and chairing forums such as Technology teams, risk groups, and Executive Committee meetings.
  • Ensure Business Resilience policies, procedures, and processes remain current, compliant with industry standards, and aligned to ISO.
  • Assist in maintaining key resilience documentation, including Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP).
  • Provide oversight and support for IT Disaster Recovery activities undertaken by IT Operations.
  • Contribute to LRQA’s objective of achieving ISO certification.

  • Proven experience balancing business and client needs to identify, assess, and address operational resilience risks.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders, senior executives, and external parties.
  • Ability to influence decisions and guide actions across internal teams, external stakeholders, and senior leadership groups.
  • Strong prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-changing environment.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Business Resilience Planning principles and best practice.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills across all levels of the organisation.
  • Accountability for understanding all ISO requirements relevant to the role and ensuring they are effectively applied.

Desired Experience and Qualifications

  • Good working knowledge—and ideally hands-on implementation experience—of industry standards for Business Continuity and Crisis Management.
  • A proven track record in a similar role within a high-growth or regulated industry.
  • Understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements relating to business resilience.
  • Knowledge of ISO and/or the Good Practice Guidelines (GPG).
  • CBCI certification, relevant degree, or equivalent experience in Resilience.
