Role Overview

This role is a vital part of the Power Platform team at LRQA (Team Purple), reporting directly to the Power Platform Lead. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of the Power Platform's capabilities, a passion for its potential, a commitment to best practice development standards, and strong team collaboration skills. The role requires experience of developing in an Agile environment and following a clear software development lifecycle process. Responsibilities also include supporting existing applications within an established ITIL framework and adhering to Change Management processes. You will support the Power Platform Lead in supporting and promoting the Team Purple Centre of Excellence (both in terms of governance and the CoE Toolkit). Your role will support the business to leverage the evolving features of the Power Platform to ensure that we are taking full advantage of its functionality and features. You will also serve as a key escalation point for supporting citizen development activities. Collaborating with the wider IT team, you will identify risks and delivery issues, escalating them as needed. You will be a key member in providing technical input into the direction for applications and the platform. This includes suggesting improvements to operational procedures and contributing to the development of governance standards. Additionally, you will be involved in planning, delivery, and supporting project objectives aligned with relevant standards and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a Power Platform SME ensuring that development work is a prime example of good practice for the design, build, test, and deployment of Power Platform solutions.
  • Work on complex or critical Power Platform solutions beyond the capability of the citizen developers.
  • Collaborate with Team Purple and the wider IT team to build solutions that meet business requirements across LRQA.
  • Collaborate with Citizen Developers to build their expertise in Team Purple's Power Platform development standards and best practice to support quality in delivery.
  • Deliver the backlog of PowerApps development and enhancements across LRQA.
  • Stay up to date with developments on the Power Platform and supporting platforms to identify where changes or new features or functionality can be utilised within LRQA.
  • Perform SDLC activities from requirements gathering through to deployment, support, and continuous improvement.
  • Continue to develop skills and capabilities working in an Agile methodology to deliver team objectives.
  • Support, monitor, and maintain relevant tooling to ensure that the platform operates as expected, including the Power Platform Centre of Excellence toolkit.
  • Ensure that all work meets the requirements of the security and architecture teams and follow established processes.
  • Deliver incident, change, and problem management support in an ITSM capacity – including incident response, root cause analysis, and implementation of changes in line with IT processes and CAB.
  • Provide input and support to programmes or projects that have Power Platform requirements and act as a focal point for those activities.
  • Be an agent for change, embracing new technologies and supporting the business to realise the value to our customers and our business working in conjunction with other teams.

Qualifications

  • Technical background with at least 3 years' experience working with Microsoft 365 and Power Platform.
  • Proven track record in developing significant Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate) or SharePoint solutions, including knowledge of the latest technologies such as Dataverse, Model-Driven and Canvas apps.
  • Practical experience designing and working with databases or data repositories (Dataverse, SQL, SharePoint lists, etc.).
  • Experience working with Dynamics 365, PowerShell, JavaScript, and JSON is desirable.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and with a multi-disciplined team.
  • Effective communication skills to engage, listen, advise, and challenge to find correct resolution.
  • Solid grasp of ITIL around Release, Deployment and Change Management.
  • Curious and continuous learner – investigates, interprets, and grasps new concepts.
  • Self‑motivated and can use own initiative to work with limited guidance to implement innovative solutions.
  • Ability to understand and assess complex and sometimes unfamiliar situations, visualise solutions and see through to resolution.
  • Result‑driven, analytical, and innovative and able to decipher business requirements and convert them effectively into innovative technology solutions.
