Most bid roles are about filling in boxes. This isn’t one of them. This is about winning.

The Opportunity

You won’t be sitting on the sidelines writing generic responses. You’ll be at the centre of high-value, technically complex bids—where clarity, credibility, and commercial thinking decide who wins. You’ll take raw input from engineering, operations, and leadership and turn it into compelling, high-scoring submissions that actually land work. If you can’t translate technical detail into a persuasive story, this will expose you quickly. If you can—you’ll thrive.

What You’ll Own

  • End-to-end delivery of tender submissions (PQQs, ITTs, frameworks, DPS)
  • Breaking down tender requirements, scoring criteria, and win strategy
  • Writing clear, persuasive responses across:
  • Technical delivery
  • Operations and mobilisation
  • Quality, risk, and compliance
  • Health & Safety, environmental, and social value
  • Managing submissions through bid portals and tight deadlines
  • Challenging internal stakeholders to get better, sharper input
  • Building and refining a bid library that actually improves win rates
  • What Makes This Role Different

You’re not writing in a vacuum. You’re working with engineered products, technical teams, and complex delivery models. Which means surface-level writers won’t cut it. You need to understand what you’re selling.

    What We’re Looking For

    • Proven experience as a Bid Writer / Tender Writer (public sector preferred)
    • Strong understanding of UK procurement processes
    • Engineering, manufacturing, or technical background (essential)
    • Ability to translate technical detail into clear, persuasive messaging
    • Experience with quality-weighted tenders
    • High attention to detail under pressure

    You’ll stand out if you:

    • Push back on weak input instead of accepting it
    • Think commercially, not just editorially
    • Care about win rates—not just word count

    The Reality

Deadlines are tight. Stakeholders are busy. Information won’t always come neatly packaged. Your job is to pull it together, sharpen it, and submit something better than everyone else. If you’re an experienced bid writer with the technical grounding to understand what you’re selling—and the commercial edge to win it—apply now.
