Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Machinist role based in Egham. The Machinist will set up and operate manual and/or NC machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Day-to-day tasks include selecting appropriate tools and materials, adjusting machine settings, measuring and inspecting parts, and maintaining accurate production records. . The Machinist is expected to follow all health and safety procedures and contribute to a clean, organized, and compliant workshop. Qualifications Demonstrated experience operating manual or CNC machining equipment, including setup, adjustment, and safe operation of machines. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, and work instructions, with strong attention to dimensional accuracy. Competence in using measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) and performing quality checks to maintain tight tolerances. Solid understanding of workshop safety practices, machine maintenance basics, and safe handling of tools and materials. Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify machining issues and propose practical adjustments or improvements. Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage part-time hours effectively and meet production deadlines. Effective communication skills . Previous experience in precision engineering or a similar manufacturing environment is preferred.
