About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Mechanic to join our workshop team in Ellesmere Port. This is far more than a standard workshop role. You’ll be working on a varied fleet of purpose-built road marking vehicles and equipment that are custom-made for our industry and essential to our nationwide operations. No two days are the same — This role offers a mix of servicing, fault finding, repairs, and working on bespoke equipment unique to our industry. You’ll join a close-knit, supportive team where your experience and input are genuinely valued, with opportunities to develop your skills and contribute ideas for improving our operations. The role is primarily workshop-based, with occasional travel to our satellite depots in Liverpool and Sandbach, along with breakdown support when required.

Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and repair vehicle fleet
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure DVSA compliance
  • Carry out inspections, servicing, and safety checks
  • Attend occasional breakdown and repair call-outs
  • Support fleet reliability across multiple depots
  • Maintain accurate workshop and defect records
  • Work safely and to high company standards

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years’ experience as an HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician, or similar

Required Skills

  • Full UK driving licence essential
  • Strong fault-finding and repair skills
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills

  • Welding/fabrication experience advantageous but not essential
  • HGV licence beneficial but not essential
