An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced litigator with a strong background in property disputes to join a busy and dynamic team. This role will suit a motivated UK‑qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with in‑depth knowledge of residential landlord and tenant law, acting for a mixture of both landlord and tenant clients.
They are seeking someone not only with technical expertise but also with the ability to provide guidance, strategy, and mentoring to junior solicitors. Supervision and team development will be a key part of this position, so strong leadership and communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities include:
- Handling all aspects of residential lease extensions, enfranchisement, and possession proceedings, including recovery of rent arrears, variation of leases, buying/selling of freehold revisions, right to manage, right of first refusal, and advising on service charges and breaches.
- Applying thorough knowledge of relevant legislation, protocols, and procedural rules, including prescribed time limits and their application.
- Serving notices, determining premiums, negotiating terms, and drafting with precision.
- (Desirable) Experience with S.20 procedures and matters before the First Tier Tribunal.
- (Advantageous) Knowledge of wider property and broader litigation.
- (Optional) Undertaking your own advocacy.
- Managing time and diaries effectively, maintaining high levels of organisation.
- Building and maintaining excellent client relationships.
