A well-established Legal 500 and Chambers‑ranked firm is seeking a Senior Residential Property Solicitor to join its growing team in a role designed with succession in mind. Working closely with the current Head of Department, the successful candidate will step into a leadership pathway with a clear route to becoming Head of Department within the next 2–3 years. The firm is recognised for high‑quality work, strong referral relationships, and a professional yet supportive culture. The Role
You will manage a full residential conveyancing caseload while also supporting the Head of Department in supervising and developing the team and contributing to the continued growth of the department. Work includes:
- Sale and purchase of Leasehold and Freehold Properties
- Mortgages and remortgages
- Transfer of equity
- New build transactions
- Right to buy
- Shared ownership
- Pre‑auction advice
- Additional residential property related matters
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a full caseload with autonomy and accountability.
- Supporting supervision and mentoring of junior lawyers and support staff.
- Working closely with the Head of Department on workflow, standards and team development.
- Providing clear, proactive communication and excellent client care.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, referrers and estate agents.
- Contributing to business development and the continued growth of the department.
- Meeting and exceeding billing targets.
About You
- Minimum 7 years’ PQE as a Residential Property Solicitor.
- Previous supervisory or mentoring experience.
- Strong experience managing a residential conveyancing caseload independently.
- Commercially minded with a consistent billing record.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Interested in progressing into a Head of Department role in the medium term.
- Experience using case management systems.
