An established and forward-thinking law firm is seeking a Senior Solicitor due to a retirement next year, to lead and grow its busy Child Care Department across 2 offices in Berkshire. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced care specialist to step into a leadership role—with genuine scope for partnership, including the possibility of joining at Partner level for the right candidate.
Role:
You will take the reins of a thriving Child Care practice, managing complex cases, mentoring junior colleagues, and shaping the department’s future. The firm is deeply committed to access to justice and delivers high-quality legal services to children, families, and guardians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle all aspects of public law Children Act matters
- Represent children, guardians, parents, and extended family members
- Supervise and support solicitors and paralegals across both offices
- Undertake advocacy where appropriate
- Drive business development and strengthen professional relationships
- Ensure compliance with Legal Aid protocols and SRA standards
- Contribute to strategic planning and departmental growth
