We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Residential Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support solicitors in residential property transactions, ensuring smooth and efficient completions. This role requires excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of UK property law and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist solicitors in handling residential property transactions from contract to completion.
- Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including contracts of sale, lease agreements, transfer deeds, and completion statements.
- Conduct Land Registry searches and review title deeds to ensure clear property ownership.
- Communicate with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other relevant parties to facilitate transactions.
- Prepare and submit Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) returns and Land Registry applications.
- Manage and coordinate completion schedules, ensuring all required documentation is in order.
- Perform due diligence on properties, including reviewing planning permissions, property taxes, and any restrictions or covenants.
- Maintain and organise legal files and documentation.
- Assist in resolving any title, mortgage, or completion-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable UK property laws and regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Law, or a related field (preferred).
- Paralegal certification or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in residential property law.
- Strong understanding of conveyancing procedures, Land Registry requirements, and completion processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal conveyancing software.
