Our client, a well-established boutique law firm in central London, is seeking an experienced Solicitor to join their in-house compliance team on a part-time basis (3 days per week). Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, you will play a key role in ensuring the firm maintains the highest standards of compliance, adheres to SRA regulations, and achieves Lexcel and ISO accreditation. The firm is happy to provide training to someone with a strong basis in non-contentious, regulatory or compliance law and they are able to provide unparalleled flexibility to the right candidate. This is an excellent role for an experienced Solicitor looking for a part-time role in a friendly and flexible firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with SRA Codes of Conduct
- Record and monitor compliance breaches for COLP/COFA
- Handle and manage client complaints
- Oversee anti-money laundering (AML) compliance and awareness
- Prepare for Lexcel and ISO audits
- Maintain and update the firm’s plans, registers, and policies
- Keep the Office Manual up to date
- Implement the firm’s audit plan
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experienced Solicitor with 5+ PQE (other levels will be considered), with experience in a reputable private practice or in-house environment
- Strong understanding of the regulatory framework for solicitors
- Knowledge of SRA Codes of Conduct and Accounts Rules
- Sound judgment in legal decision-making
- Ability to lead on compliance obligations
- Experience in ensuring robust systems and quality assurance within a law firm
