A strong boutique, well known for its leading litigation work and national reach is looking for a confident Solicitor to join their Employment practice focusing on discrimination matters. The team handles a mixture of legal aid (30%) and privately funded (70%) matters including harassment, unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, and breach of contract, focusing on assisting individuals under the equalities act.

The firm gains a significant caseload via word of mouth, leading to a period of prolonged expansion. They are currently looking for a junior Solicitor with employment experience and (ideally) experience working with the LAA. They offer excellent flexibility including 3 days from home, great opportunities for advancement. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer who is looking for their next step up to a highly reputable national firm!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing a caseload of claimant employment matters, focusing on discrimination cases, with supervision from senior Solicitors.
  • Attend tribunals when necessary, assisting clients from initiation to conclusion.
  • Support Senior team members on larger more complex matters.
  • Deliver outstanding client service, with relationship building and a sound understanding of client requirements.
  • Communicating with the LAA in regards to funding matters (30% of cases).
  • Assist with the continued development of the firm.
Skills and Experience:
  • UK qualified Employment Solicitor with 0 - 2 years PQE (other levels will be considered) from a reputable firm.
  • A demonstrated track record and an enthusiasm for employment law and compassionate matters.
  • Technically strong, with a good academic background.
  • A passionate personality with an enthusiasm for personal development with strong interpersonal skills.
Desirable Skills (Non-essential):
  • Experience working with the LAA on publicly funded matters.
