We are working on behalf of a well-established law firm to recruit an experienced Accounts Manager. This is a rare opportunity to step into a pivotal role, replacing a long-standing member of staff who is retiring. A thorough handover will be provided to ensure a smooth transition.

The role is fully office based and will suit someone confident operating with minimal supervision in a legal accounts environment.

The role includes:

  • Managing the firm’s Client and Office Accounts in compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and Office Manual
  • Maintaining all ledgers, conducting bank reconciliations, and overseeing invoicing
  • Producing month-end and management accounts, including cashflow analysis
  • Managing credit control and VAT returns
  • Coordinating the firm’s outsourced payroll function
  • Liaising with auditors for annual accounts and accountant’s reports
  • Supervising Accounts Assistants and supporting the wider management team
  • Ensuring excellent client care and professional standards at all times

About you:

  • Proven accounts experience within a law firm
  • Strong knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules, VAT and AML regulations
  • Experience working within a Lexcel-accredited firm (essential)
  • Excellent organisational, communication and IT skills, including case management systems
  • A proactive, reliable and high-integrity approach
