Join L&Q's Fire Management Repairs Team and help keep our residents safe. At L&Q, safety is our top priority. We're looking for an experienced FRA Carpenter - Passive Works to join our Fire Management Repairs team within Property Services. This is an exciting opportunity to use your skills to deliver vital fire safety repairs and maintenance across our homes and communal areas, helping to protect residents and communities.
Reporting to the Fire Maintenance Supervisor, you'll carry out a variety of fire safety repairs identified through internal and external Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs). You'll take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship, ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
A company vehicle will be provided for business use only, PDA fuel card, Uniform, PPE, power tools and parking paid will all be provided. It is essential to have a valid UK Manual Licence to carry out this role. We are a multi-site organisation, so some roles may require occasional travel between offices, but expenses will be covered.
Your impact in the role:
Passive Fire Protection Carpenter / Fire Door Installer
This role involves carrying out fire door upgrade works, installing fire door sets, and undertaking general passive fire protection maintenance. The successful candidate will also be responsible for installing fully certified fire door sets, with full training provided to ensure compliance with our BM TRADA accreditation requirements. A key aspect of the role is the accurate completion of BM TRADA documentation and compliance records, therefore candidates must be comfortable producing clear and detailed paperwork to a consistently high standard.
Essential Requirements
- Have proven experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire doors.
- Be a highly skilled carpenter with excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of fire door compliance standards and best practices.
- Be capable of completing compliance documentation accurately and professionally.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience in passive fire protection works.
- Fire stopping experience, including carrying out minor remedial works and repairs.
- Knowledge of BM TRADA accreditation standards and requirements.
