Join our Heating & Hot Water Team at L&Q: L&Q is one of the UK's largest housing associations and providers of social and affordable homes. We house around 250,000 people primarily across Greater London and Greater Manchester. Our purpose is simple - to provide social homes and landlord services that everyone can be proud of.
We have an amazing opportunity for a Technical Advisor to join the Heating and Hot Water team on a permanent full time basis. The role will report into the Heating and Hot Water Operational Manager and will provide technical advice and support on breakdowns, procedure, legislation and gas compliance.
You will work with a number of key stakeholders including residents following L&Q's procedures to ensure compliancy on all domestic or commercial gas and renewable heating systems providing full repairs service to our residents. The Technical Advisors work closely with our Gas Contractors to inspect quality of works undertaken in L&Q's voids and occupied properties, assisting with technical questions and issues.
Your impact in the role:
You will have experience working with contractors, dispute resolution, looking at specifications, holding meetings, looking at performance and ensuring that KPIs and targets are set and met with L&Q's partners. It will be key to ensure that our contractors provide an outstanding service to our residents and that any issues are dealt with efficiently and are investigated as required in order to put any failures back on track.
The post holder will need to have had experience working with statutory authorities, suppliers and consultants promoting best practice and contributing towards L&Q's positive reputation within the industry. You will contribute to legislation change and promote the work of the trust. This means you will need to have an up to date CPD and will be committed to being knowledgeable about changes in legislation and compliance frameworks. The post holder will ensure H&S, regulatory & governance compliance for areas under the technical advisor's control.

- Level 3 Gas Engineering or Level 2 plus experience
- Technical knowledge of Gas Compliance and knowledge of working across a varied housing stock
- Service background and quality assurance
- Commitment to delivery of good customer service
- Experience in a Customer facing role
- Ability to work in harmony with a number of contractors
- Performance Management skills
- Up to date legislation knowledge and commitment to CPD
- A good understanding of solid fuel, oil, LPG and renewables is advantageous
