Role and responsibilities
Join our Lettings Team at L&Q and take ownership of a varied and rewarding caseload across the West region. This role offers the opportunity to directly influence void performance, resident satisfaction and the Trust’s wider financial and operational objectives. This is a great opportunity for an experienced lettings professional who enjoys autonomy, accountability and working at pace in a customer-facing environment.
Your impact in the role:
- As a Lettings Officer, you will manage a diverse caseload to ensure the Trust’s homes are let efficiently, compliantly and in line with the L&Q allocations policy, governance requirements and regulatory standards.
- You will be responsible for reducing void times, maximising rental income and contributing to the team’s performance against key performance indicators, while maintaining a consistently high standard of customer service.
- Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, you’ll play an active role in mutual exchanges, transfers and providing moving options advice to residents.
- You’ll also ensure accurate record-keeping, effective risk management and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
This is a fast-paced, public-facing role that requires sound judgement, strong organisation and the confidence to make decisions and see them through.
What you’ll bring:
- You will bring proven lettings experience within social housing, along with a strong understanding of the allocations process and its impact on business performance, customer satisfaction and income.
- You’ll be highly organised, with excellent time management and attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities while working accurately and proactively.
- You’ll be confident using MS Office and housing management systems and able to quickly adapt to new processes.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, as you’ll work closely with residents, local authorities, internal teams and other key stakeholders, often in complex or sensitive situations.
- You’ll demonstrate resilience, professionalism and a commitment to delivering fair, consistent and high-quality services in line with L&Q’s values.
