Contract Type: FTC until 20th July 2027, Full-Time, 35 hours

Salary: £37,500 per annum (London weighted salary) or £34,000 per annum (Regional salary), dependant on experience

Grade: 7

Reporting Office: London, Stratford or Manchester, Trafford

Persona: Agile Worker: 20% - 40% of contractual hours to be worked from reporting office/working location (hybrid working)

Join our Internal Communications Team at L&Q. L&Q is one of the UK’s largest housing associations and providers of social and affordable homes. We house around 250,000 people primarily across Greater London and Greater Manchester. Our purpose is simple – to provide social homes and landlord services that everyone can be proud of.

We are looking for an Internal Communications Officer to play a vital role in our full-service, in-house Communications team. In this role you will coordinate internal communications content, making sure the right messages reach the right people at the right time. You’ll support the development of our internal communications channels, help deliver creative campaigns and play an important part in keeping colleagues informed, connected and engaged. You will also help share colleagues' stories and bring to life the work of teams across L&Q, celebrating successes, showcasing impact and helping people feel more connected to the wider organisation.

We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, a collaborative approach and a passion for our social purpose. You’ll be comfortable working with different teams, managing priorities and helping create content that supports our goals and culture. You’ll be familiar with internal communications measurement techniques to make sure we are truly making an impact. If this sounds like you, we would love for you to apply!

Your impact in the role:

  • Support the planning and coordination of various types of content to enable the Internal Communications team to deliver effective and impactful internal communications campaigns and activity
  • Support L&Q to raise awareness of key internal initiatives by creating copy, editing and proofing to cover a wide range of communication channels and collateral including publications, reports, briefings, news stories and web and social media content
  • Ensure that L&Q’s digital internal communications channels are up to date, accurate and appropriately used
  • Support L&Q to maintain a positive organisational image by producing timely, accurate and appropriate responses to internal communications enquiries
  • Promote communications best practice and upskill colleagues where appropriate, by helping them to self-serve through tools including (but not exclusive to) templates, how to guides and training

What you’ll bring:

  • Degree or Higher National Qualification in relevant subject or significant experience of producing corporate level communications collateral
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a comparable, fast-paced communications team environment
  • Proven track record of planning and delivering communications activity
  • Proven track record of successfully producing high quality copy and communications materials for internal and external audiences
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • IT literate - MS Office, database management or equivalent
