We are seeking commercially astute, technically skilled and highly motivated individuals to take on the role of Assistant Finance Manager. This is a pivotal role within the Financial Strategy, Planning & Performance team, reporting directly to the Head of Finance for Corporate Services.
You will be responsible for supporting them in ensuring the team provides a comprehensive range of financial services and provides strategic financial oversight in the relevant area of the Financial Strategy, Planning and Performance team.
Your impact in the role:
- Support management in the supervision and mentorship of finance team members to ensure high quality outputs of the team.
- Deputising for the Head of Finance and Finance Manager in their areas of responsibility as and when required.
- Provide strategic financial support and partner with budget holders across the business, to deliver insightful management information, strengthen relationships between finance and operational teams, and enable informed decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of management and statutory accounts, monitoring KPIs, and advising on business performance.
- Contribute to the review and improvement of finance processes and compliance with financial regulations.
What you'll bring:
- CCAB Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or CFA with evidence of demonstrable relevant post qualified experience (essential)
- Experience working in Finance in Housing/Property/Construction and/or a large complex organisation.
- Able to demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
- Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills, with proven business partnering experience.
- Support and mentor junior colleagues.
- Strong time management, organisational and project management capabilities.
- Advanced Excel and IT literacy in MS Office for reporting, modelling, and process automation and proficient in business intelligence software.
