L&Q is excited to introduce a brand-new role, Head of Managing Agent Relationships , within our Homeowner & Leasehold Support Team. This pivotal leadership position will oversee a dedicated team of four Managing Agent Contract Managers, driving excellence in managing agent relationships and ensuring services are delivered with transparency, compliance, and value for money.

Your Impact in the Role:
- Strategic Oversight of Managing Agent Relationships: Lead the development and execution of robust strategies to manage superior landlords, resident management companies, right-to-manage companies and their appointed agents, and managing agents appointed by L&Q.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Landlord and Tenant Act, and manage risks associated with managing agent activities. Collaborate with the Building Compliance team to monitor and address building safety compliance issues.
- Resident-Focused Outcomes: Drive improved customer satisfaction by fostering positive relationships with managing agents and ensuring that services meet or exceed expectations.
- Leadership and Team Development: Manage, motivate, and inspire a team of Managing Agent Contract Managers to deliver high-quality outcomes. Provide training and guidance to internal teams on managing agent relationships.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain accurate records of blocks and estates, ensuring all relevant data is captured and managed effectively. Provide advice and intervention in resolving operational concerns, particularly regarding health and safety.
- Collaborative Engagement: Build strong working relationships with superior landlords and external managing agents, acting as a key contact to resolve disputes and enhance service delivery.
What You’ll Need:
- Leasehold Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of leasehold block management and managing agent operations. Ability to interpret and apply complex leasehold provisions.
- Leadership Excellence: Demonstrated success in leading and inspiring teams, with a focus on achieving demanding objectives and maintaining high performance.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of legislation such as sections 18-30 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, Commonhold & Leasehold Reform Act 2002, and RICS/TPI guidance.
- Compliance and Analytical Skills: Experience in ensuring legal compliance, analysing data, and delivering value for money.
- Communication and Collaboration: Proven ability to engage with diverse internal and external stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and deliver clear and effective communication.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
