Salary: £90,480 - £100,207 per annum dependent on experience plus essential car user allowance of £1,300 per annum

Are you an exceptional leader with property experience and a desire for continuous improvement? L&Q are looking for a Head of Maintenance Services to focus on the organisation’s Repairs Service covering our North London region, plus surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity to join the organisation as we embark on our journey from C2 to C1 and support us in achieving and maintaining top quartile performance in the sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a large operation, managing the in-house delivery of repairs to approximately 50,000 homes across the North London region and surrounding areas.
  • Report to the Director of Maintenance Operations and lead a team of Maintenance Managers within each area.
  • Provide operational leadership for direct maintenance services across a large geographical region with responsibility for achieving budgets and managing a budget of circa £40 million, including financial planning and robust contract management.
  • Focus on improving customer satisfaction, efficiency and productivity with a right-first-time approach and collaboration across L&Q to remove complexity and deliver the best possible outcomes for residents.
  • Deliver people strategies to attract and retain talent and support managers through development initiatives (Academy approach) in line with L&Q values and behavioural framework.
  • Ensure Health and Safety standards, regulatory and governance compliance for Maintenance services and manage associated risks.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Level 4 or above CIH qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven leadership in a senior repairs/maintenance role within social housing or a similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of housing legislation and compliance with requirements.
  • Track record of managing large budgets efficiently, with evidence of cost control and value for money.
  • Successful track record of developing and delivering long-term, integrated strategies across a large portfolio of properties and estates.
  • Experience managing large teams both office and field-based, including in-depth knowledge of relevant H&S requirements.
