Primary Job Purpose

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our busy kitchen. As a Kitchen Porter, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly, and that the highest standards of health and safety are maintained. We are looking for candidates who are able to work evenings and weekends with a flexible approach to work.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Undertake duties as set by the Head or senior chefs
  • Participate in the smooth running of the kitchen
  • Ensure all statutory elements of health, safety and hygiene are followed and maintain the premises in a safe and healthy condition to a high standard
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is operated safely and complies with instruction laid out in risk assessments
  • Wash crockery and utensils
  • Ensure food preparation areas are maintained clean and hygienic during and after service; deep-clean kitchen equipment
  • Keep stores areas neat and tidy
  • Keep refrigeration and freezers organised
  • Report failing equipment to Supervisor
  • Report Health and Safety hazards to Supervisor
  • Communicate effectively with staff
  • Provide porter support with deliveries
  • Carry out other duties as reasonably required from time to time
