Salary:£39,685 - £43,978 (London weighted salary) dependant on experience

Grade: 7

Reporting Office: London, Stratford

Persona: Agile Worker: 20% - 40% of contractual hours to be worked from reporting office/working location (hybrid working) with occasional site visits

  • As Assistant Project Manager, you'll support the delivery of new build residential and regeneration schemes from procurement through to handover, keeping every project on track for time, cost and quality.
  • Our development pipeline is growing, and we need a proactive, detail-focused Assistant Project Manager to help us deliver more of the high-quality homes our communities need.
  • You’ll report to the Head of Regeneration Development or Senior Development Manager, joining our Regeneration & Development team.

Your impact in the role:

  • Assist with the day-to-day delivery of new build residential projects, from procurement through to effective handover
  • Manage building contracts and development agreements, problem solving and positively influencing outcomes as they arise
  • Support the compilation of tender documents and the award of contracts
  • Monitor contractor progress against the programme, escalte issues as needed, and maintain robust project reporting and document management
  • Contribute to monitoring long term social and economic regeneration opportunities, including employment and training initiatives
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues across L&Q, and with local authorities, planning authorities, landowners, house builders, agents, contractors and consultants
  • Your work will directly support the delivery of high-quality schemes on time and within budget, helping the team meet its business plan targets

What you'll bring:

  • A proven aptitude for project management within the built environment or housing sector
  • Some financial and commercial acumen, along with associated risk management skills
  • Excellent presentation and networking skills, with the confidence to collaborate, negotiate and influence stakeholders
  • Strong project co-ordination skills, and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a demanding environment
  • A delivery focused approach, able to identify risks and propose effective solutions with minimal supervision
  • A commitment to excellent customer service, with demonstrable experience of working positively in customer facing environments
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including report writing
  • Good computer literacy, with proven competency in MS Office and the ability to manage simple business systems and databases
  • Desirable: an understanding of identifying and exercising control over risk
  • Desirable: degree educated, or equivalent
