Reporting Office: London, Stratford

Working Location: North and North East London (covering various sites across this region)

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:00

Location and driving requirement: Having a UK manual driving licence is mandatory. Candidates should mention that they have a full licence within their supporting statement.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out a variety of caretaking tasks including Health and Safety checks, cleaning, rota management, and small repairs.
  • Work primarily on a lone basis under your own initiative, with the ability to collaborate as part of a team where needed.
  • Maintain communal areas within blocks and estates, perform communal cleaning and grounds maintenance, and carry out small maintenance repairs.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, security and safe working practices.
  • Be proactive in daily activities, plan and manage time effectively, and demonstrate strong organizational skills and time management.
  • Be willing to learn, show good decision making, and deliver first-class service to residents.
  • Possess basic Word and Excel skills and be comfortable using other digital tools for reporting, meetings, and training.
  • Possess a good standard of literacy and be willing to learn new skills as service needs evolve.
  • Domestic and small-scale maintenance tasks, including basic DIY, with a focus on safety and customer service.
  • Be prepared to work across multiple sites within the region and, on occasion, across all four operational regions of L&Q as required.
  • Drive responsibilities as required by the role and ensure access to secure overnight parking if a company vehicle is issued.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Good communication skills and basic literacy; ability to submit weekly reports and participate in online training and meetings.
  • Full, clean manual driving licence (L&Q operates a manual fleet).
  • Access to secure overnight parking if a company vehicle is issued; note that resident parking permits are not provided by L&Q.
  • To apply for or hold a Basic Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) certificate is required to work within the team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing needs within the neighbourhoods.
