Our HR Systems team plays a vital role in supporting L&Q’s HR function, ensuring platforms run smoothly and colleagues can access accurate, reliable information. We provide day‑to‑day support across the business, helping managers and employees resolve system queries, navigate self‑service processes, and use our HR systems effectively. The System team also work behind the scenes to maintain data quality, troubleshoot issues, and ensure our systems are aligned with business needs. Alongside this, we support system improvements, projects and upgrades, helping to continuously enhance how HR services are delivered across L&Q.
Overview of the Role: We’re looking for a motivated and detail‑oriented individual to join our HR Systems team as a HR Systems Apprentice. This is a great opportunity to gain hands‑on experience while learning how HR systems support a large organisation. In this role, you’ll support the day‑to‑day running of our HR systems, helping to keep data accurate, systems running smoothly, and colleagues well supported. You’ll work closely with the team to provide user support, assist with system updates, and contribute to ongoing improvements and projects. This role would suit someone who is interested in HR from a people perspective, but also curious about how systems and data help deliver a great employee experience. You’ll also get involved in activities such as testing new system features, supporting upgrades, maintaining user guides, and helping to improve data quality. This role offers a mix of technical, analytical, and customer‑focused work, giving you the chance to build essential skills for working in HR and business services. Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll be supported by experienced colleagues while working towards a recognised qualification, helping you build a strong foundation for a career in HR Systems. You’ll report to an HR Systems Analyst and be part of a friendly, collaborative, and supportive team focused on continuous improvement and delivering a great service across the organisation.
Your impact in the role:
- Provide day‑to‑day support for HR systems, assisting users with queries and access issues
- Help maintain system data, ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Support system maintenance, upgrades and testing activities
- Assist with creating and updating user guides and training materials
- Work with colleagues across the business to resolve issues and improve processes
- Contribute to HR systems projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support data quality checks and housekeeping activities
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and occasionally external partners to support system improvements and ensure effective use of HR platforms
What you'll bring:
- Eager to learn with a genuine interest in systems, data and problem‑solving
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above), including maths and English
- Hold or be predicted to achieve 3 A Levels at Grade C or above
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Computer literate with good, proven competency in MS Office
- A proactive, self‑motivated approach and willingness to learn
- Commitment to delivering excellent customer service
Apprenticeship details: Level 4 Business Analyst Apprenticeship entry requirements: Minimum of 3 GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above), including maths and English; 3 A Levels or equivalent (and GCSE English and maths). Participation in the apprenticeship programme will be subject to right to work in the UK and satisfying the applicable apprenticeship eligibility requirements at the time of enrolment.
