Job Description

Title: Scheme Improvement Handyperson

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time, 35 hours

Salary: £28,191 per annum

Grade: 3

Reporting Office: London, Stratford

Persona: Site Based Worker, Contractual hours to be worked from allocated site(s), with ad hoc office attendance as required

Closing Date: 28th October at 9am

Join our Scheme Improvement Team at L&Q:

The Scheme Improvement Team is part of our Caretaking Service and is a key function of our continuing commitment to providing a responsive customer-based service for our residents.

Your impact in the role:

  • You will be working as part of a team assisting in delivery of our estate services to provide a high standard of maintenance in communal areas, within our blocks and on our estates.
  • You will be carrying out pre-planned projects involving painting, decorating, grounds work, and general improvement of schemes, as well as some minor maintenance where necessary.
  • You will also be liaising directly with L&Q staff, residents and contractors and you must have due regard to health & safety and security issues.

What you'll bring:

  • You should be capable of carrying out a variety repair jobs and able to work effectively as part of a team and under your own initiative.
  • Capable of trade skills or DIY or Gardening experience is essential.
  • A good communicator and be willing to learn new skills as the service adapts to the changing needs within the Trust.
  • Confident working remotely as part of a team therefore you must have good interpersonal skills and be able to arrange work schedules and plan the implementation of work.
  • Be self-motivated, proactive and able to organise your time effectively and aware of safe working practices.
  • It is an essential requirement that you have a good standard of both literacy and IT skills, as you will be required to use a PC undertaking online courses and assessments. We can further your skills during the probation period.

A Full UK, manual, driving license is essential as you will be required to drive a company vehicle. (Large Ford Transit)
