Job Summary

  • Contract type: Permanent, full time, 40 hours per week
  • Salary: £42,000 to £45,500 per annum
  • Location: South London (Bexley, Lewisham) and Kent, reporting office: Sidcup, London. Work will include on-site visits to resident homes, estates and occasional office attendance. Business van provided.

Job Details

The position is front-line, delivering high quality electrical maintenance and installation services and supporting the direct maintenance team. It requires meeting cost and time targets, maintaining KPIs and providing a first-time fix approach.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical installation, maintenance and repair work across residential and commercial properties.
  • Perform inspection and testing of electrical installations.
  • Identify faults and carry out troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Maintain resident safety and meet Health and Safety requirements.
  • Achieve first-time fix approach and support the team to meet KPIs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Route 1 – NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Apprenticeship or equivalent (must include AM2 where required).
  • Route 2 – Older Technical or Craft Qualifications (must include AM2 where required).
  • Route 3 – Experienced Worker Qualification (Maintenance/Installation Electrician) or ECS Gold Card (Maintenance/Installation Electrician) or equivalent.
  • Wiring Regulations (Table 4D).
  • Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS7671:2018).
  • Desirable: Level 3 Award in the Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of in-service Electrical Installations (QCF) or equivalent.

What You’ll Bring

  • Maintenance experience in social housing or a similar environment.
  • Excellent customer-service record delivering service to internal and external customers.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety.
  • Ability to work under pressure and strict time constraints.
  • Experience completing electrical certification, including periodic inspections and testing.
  • Full driving licence and own hand tools.
