LQ is looking for an experienced Caretaker to join our Estate Services team at Old Kent Road, South East London. The role involves maintaining communal areas, carrying out small repairs, and liaising with residents and contractors.
Responsibilities- Maintain communal areas within our blocks and on our estates, carrying out communal cleaning and grounds maintenance work.
- Carry out small maintenance repairs as required.
- Liaise directly with residents and contractors, answer queries and ensure due regard to health & safety and security issues.
- Capable of carrying out a variety of small repair jobs and working effectively as part of a team and under your own initiative.
- Trade skills, gardening or DIY experience would be an advantage, together with a recognised City & Guilds or Bics qualification in cleaning (although not essential as training would be provided).
- A good communicator and willing to learn new skills as the service adapts to changing needs within the neighbourhood.
- Able to work on your own initiative and be self‑motivated to organise your own time effectively.
- Proactive in daily activities and aware of safe working practices.
- Possessing a good literacy standard.
- Have IT skills – required to use a PC, undertaking online courses and assessments (can be learnt on the job during the probationary period).
