We're looking for a Graduate Credit Policy Analyst to join our Bristol-based Credit Risk team. This is an exciting opportunity to build a career in credit risk, policy, and analytical decision-making within a growing and dynamic organisation.

The Credit Risk Department plays a critical role in ensuring the business lends responsibly and within its defined risk appetite. We are responsible for recommending, implementing, and monitoring the strategies, policies, and controls used to quantify and manage credit risk across all lending channels.

As a Graduate Credit Policy Analyst, you'll work alongside experienced risk professionals, developing the skills and knowledge needed to influence lending decisions, improve risk frameworks, and support the ongoing optimisation of our credit risk strategy.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Monitoring credit risk policies, controls, and processes to ensure the business operates within its defined risk appetite.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of the credit risk management framework.
  • Assisting with the development and enhancement of controls used to assess compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and Group standards.
  • Conducting detailed case-level reviews of underwriting decisions and providing constructive feedback to operational teams.
  • Working with colleagues to identify opportunities to optimise credit risk strategies, policies, and decisioning processes.
  • Supporting risk monitoring activities and helping track actions arising from audits, control reviews, and regulatory recommendations.
  • Producing analysis, reporting, and insights to support informed risk-based decision making.
  • Contributing to the governance framework that underpins effective credit risk management.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a graduate who is eager to learn, intellectually curious, and motivated to develop a career within Risk and Financial Services.

Essential Skills & Attributes

  • Degree educated (or equivalent qualification) in a numerate, analytical, or business-related discipline such as Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Business, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Naturally inquisitive, with the confidence to ask questions and challenge thinking constructively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to different audiences.
  • A proactive approach to learning and continuous professional development.
  • High levels of integrity, professionalism, and resilience.
  • Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Desirable

  • Previous internship, placement year, or work experience within financial services, risk, lending, underwriting, or analytics.
  • Understanding of credit risk, lending, banking, or financial services.
  • Experience using data analysis tools or working with large datasets.
  • Knowledge of underwriting processes within consumer (B2C) or commercial (B2B) lending environments.
