We are looking for an experienced Chartered Surveyor to join a growing independent practice with a strong pipeline of work. This can be on a consultancy / subcontract, full-time, or part-time basis. Working across London and the Home Counties (generally within the M25), the role covers all core aspects of residential surveying and valuation, including:
- Undertaking Level 2 and Level 3 surveys
- Carrying out Red Book valuations (if Registered Valuer)
- Producing clear, accurate reports
- Liaising directly with clients, agents and solicitors
- Managing your own workload and deadlines
There is a consistent flow of high-quality work, so no need to generate your own instructions. The role is fairly autonomous, so it suits someone comfortable working independently. There is also scope to get involved in Party Walls, lease extensions, enfranchisement, expert witness, commercial valuations and other work.

We specialise in residential surveying and valuation, including Level 1-3 Home Surveys, Red Book valuations, lease extension and enfranchisement work, expert witness assignments, Party Wall matters, reinstatement cost assessments, and more. The business has built a strong reputation for accuracy, integrity and high-quality reporting. We are now at a stage of growth where additional resource is needed to maintain quality and service.
Requirements:
- Ideally MRICS or FRICS qualified, AssocRICS will be considered based on experience
- Ideally RICS Registered Valuer (or working towards)
- Strong experience in Level 2 and Level 3 surveys
- Good understanding of residential construction and defects
- Ability to produce clear, high-quality reports
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, leases, planning documents and Land Registry titles
- Comfortable working independently
- Full UK driving licence
- Professional Indemnity Insurance (if on consultancy basis)
Desirable:
- Experience in Party Wall advisory, lease extensions and expert witness work
- Commercial valuations experience
Reward & Remuneration:
Permanent Role: £65,000 – £80,000 basic salary (depending on experience), Hybrid working, Expenses and pension contributions, CPD support, PI cover and holiday entitlement (full details on application), Opportunity to get involved in the growth of the business, with financial reward for contribution.
Consultancy / Freelance: 50-60%+ fee split for consultancy / freelance roles, Opportunity to work on a wide range of instructions.
