LPR International is seeking a reliable Level 2 Cook - Shift Leader for its client based at RAF Mildenhall. The Level 2 Cook is responsible for supervising the Level 1 Cook team while preparing and cooking various foods in a cafeteria-style operation.

Requirements:

  • Ability to supervise Level 1 Cooks and manage the floor.
  • Proficiency in basic cooking tasks such as slicing, dicing, chopping, measuring, and weighing.
  • Experience in preparing simple items like pancakes, eggs, sausages, and canned/fresh vegetables.
  • Capability to prepare hot cereals, soups, pizza, and cold sandwiches.
  • Experience with frying convenience foods like chicken nuggets and hash browns.
  • Ability to prepare side dishes, pasta, and short order grill items.
  • Skill in roasting, broiling, baking, frying, steaming, and grilling meats.
  • Knowledge of preparing stocks, sauces, and puddings from scratch.
  • Experience in making salads, desserts, and coordinating complex meals.
  • Ability to meet cooking deadlines and follow recipes accurately.
  • Skills in cake, pastry, bread, and dessert decoration.

Required Experience:

  • Basic knowledge of food preparation methods and procedures.
  • Minimum of one year experience in food prep and kitchen equipment use.
  • At least one year of baking experience.

Preferred qualification:

  • Level 1 City and Guilds or equivalent, though relevant experience may suffice.
