Join us as a Wastewater Treatment Technician in our Blue Anchor, NJ plant! In this highly specialized maintenance role, you’ll help keep our Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) running safely, smoothly, and in full compliance — all while supporting our broader facilities with essential maintenance tasks. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team focused on protecting our environment, ensuring safe operations, and continuously improving our processes.
A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
- Operating & Maintaining the Wastewater Treatment Plant: Perform daily sampling and testing (including pH, COD, and other required measures) to ensure environmental and regulatory compliance. Conduct routine monitoring, adjustments, and documentation of system performance. Read and interpret mechanical drawings and operational schematics.
- Performing Predictive & Preventative Maintenance: Perform predictive maintenance on WWTP equipment using tools such as ultrasonic testing, compressed air leak detection, and infrared surveys. PM, troubleshoot, and repair industrial production and WWTP equipment involving mechanical systems, pneumatics, drives, and hydraulics. Apply working knowledge of basic industrial electricity in maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
- General Facilities Maintenance: Assist with routine maintenance in and around the WWTP and onsite facilities, including painting, patching, tile replacement, ceiling tile installation, minor electrical repairs (e.g., light fixture/bulb replacement), and basic plumbing diagnostics and repairs. Support hanging fixtures, signage, and other facility upkeep tasks as needed.
- Being a Strong Team Contributor: Participate constructively with the team, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive working environment. Support Blue Anchor team goals and collaborate across functions to achieve success. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain flexibility with working hours, particularly during plant cleaning and special activities.
We’re Looking for Someone With
- High school diploma or GED.
- Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Must have State of New Jersey N2 Wastewater Treatment License.
- Must be flexible to work day or evening shifts based on wastewater treatment needs.
