As a Quality Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract, based in Media City, Manchester and working in a hybrid model, you’ll play a key role in building capability within our plant teams and driving improvements in quality and food safety to protect Kellogg’s consumers, customers, products, and reputation. Reporting to the Manufacturing and Operations QFS Lead, you’ll partner with plant teams and collaborate across Innovation, Logistics, Procurement, and other Supply Chain functions to embed the Quality and Food Safety 7 Core Programs (7CP) within Kellogg Work Systems (KWS), ensuring continuous improvement and enhanced business performance.
A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
- Program Implementation Support – Support the QPM in implementing specific QFS programs, processes, tools and standards within 7 Core Programs by training and coaching owners and leaders across the region.
- KPI Delivery – Support the team to deliver QFS program KPIs vs targeted glidepath, master plan progression.
- Collaborative Problem-Solving – Collaborate with plant teams on critical thinking to deliver QFS improvements.
- Customer Complaint Management – Act as the first point of contact for QFS for customer complaints and connect with the local team to get subject matter expert support, support root cause analysis and define corrective and preventive actions.
- Community Engagement – Serve as a core member of the Regional Program QFS Community of Practice (CoP).
- Innovation Project Participation – Contribute as a team member of assigned innovation projects and, in collaboration with manufacturing QFS teams and Quality Materials Managers, risk assess and assure production of safe, high-quality products.
- End-to-End Platform Support – Participate as a team member of End-to-End platform, providing visibility of platform QFS performance, highlighting opportunities, and offering QFS expertise to improve business performance.
- Process Roll-Out – Support the roll-out of global or regional Quality processes with responsibility for specific processes or tools.
We’re Looking for Someone With
- Up to 50% travel to plants; strong communication and influencing skills across diverse teams.
- Ability to coach and develop QFS capability within plant teams.
- Humility to learn and drive ongoing improvement initiatives.
- Self-motivation and the ability to simplify complex concepts across cultural and language barriers.
- Science or engineering degree preferred; 3+ years’ experience in the food industry and knowledge of BRC, ISO, FSSC or other GFSI standards.
- Advanced MS Office skills (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint), familiarity with SAP or PLM systems, continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma), and project management experience.
