Contract: Permanent | Full-time | 40 hours per week

The Role

As Finance Manager, you’ll take full ownership of the school’s financial management — ensuring accuracy, compliance and clarity across all systems and processes.

You’ll work closely with the Head and Council of Management to provide strategic financial insight and guide key decisions that shape the school’s future.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing day‑to‑day financial operations
  • Preparing and monitoring budgets, income and expenditure reports
  • Managing payroll, VAT returns and financial risk
  • Leading and supporting two Assistant Finance Managers
  • Maintaining accurate reconciliations, invoicing and daily posting
  • Supporting wider school activities as part of a small, friendly office team

About You

You’re an experienced finance professional who enjoys variety, responsibility and working with great people.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Experienced (3–5 years+) in finance management or a busy accounts environment
  • Confident leading others and managing workload effectively
  • Skilled in Excel and digital finance systems
  • Organised, proactive and calm under pressure
  • A warm communicator with a genuine team spirit

Experience in an education setting is a bonus but not essential. Integrity, accuracy and attitude matter most.
