Loyal Blue Recruitment are working closely with a welcoming and well-run secondary school in Ealing to recruit a Welfare Officer for a maternity cover position starting this April. This is a key role within the school, ideal for someone who enjoys supporting young people, thrives in a busy environment, and takes pride in keeping things organised, calm and running smoothly.
The Role
- You will be the main point of contact for student welfare and first aid, while also supporting the wider school administration team.
Responsibilities
- Acting as the lead First Aider and managing the school’s Welfare Room
- Supporting students with medical needs and keeping accurate records
- Liaising with parents, staff and external agencies where needed
- Managing student medical information, care plans and medication
- Supporting with school trips administration and welfare planning
- Assisting with general admin duties and reprographics when required
- Playing a key role in maintaining a safe, organised and supportive school environment
What We’re Looking For
- We’re looking for someone reliable, organised and confident working in a school setting.
Essential Requirements
- Current First Aid qualification
- Previous experience working in a school environment
- Strong administration and organisational skills
- Confident using IT systems (e.g. SIMS / MS Office)
- Excellent communication skills with both adults and students
- Ability to stay calm and professional in busy or sensitive situations
- Experience supporting welfare, pastoral care or medical needs in schools would be a strong advantage
