We are seeking a skilled and experienced Slinger/Signaller in the Reading / Newbury area to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of lifting operations, working closely with the Appointed Person/Lift Supervisor, crane operators, MEWP Operators and other site personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lifting Operations: Attach and detach loads safely, using appropriate lifting accessories and techniques.
  • Signalling: Communicate effectively with crane operators and other team members using standard hand signals or radio equipment.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all lifting operations comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Equipment Inspection: Inspect lifting accessories before and after use, reporting any defects or issues.
  • Coordination: Work collaboratively with Lift supervisor, crane operators, and other team members to plan and execute lifts.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the Telecoms or heavy lifting industry sectors.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of lifting operations, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work at various sites across the UK as required and stay away from home as & when required.
