We are a school that places the quality of learning at the heart of everything we do. We have an opportunity for a dynamic, caring and dedicated individual to join our SEND team in supporting our young people to realise their full potential. You will be involved in supporting students in all areas of school life to ensure that they are able to fully access everything our school has to offer and achieve their personal best.
The successful candidate will have the skills to support students with barriers to learning, enabling them to make good academic progress. You will support students both in and out of the classroom. As well as providing academic support, you will give support around the school site to students who have physical disabilities.
Where a candidate is interested in taking on responsibilities for the intimate care needs of some students, they are encouraged to indicate this within the application. The intimate care responsibility has a SEN allowance of £1,573 (actual £1,053) as an addition to the base salary. Please note that an interest in taking on intimate care responsibilities is not mandatory and candidates who do not wish to take on this responsibility are encouraged to apply as there is a limited need for TAs with this addition within the school.
At the heart of the job, you are a caring person who is passionate about inclusion and determined to help our students experience life in all its fullness, despite the challenges that they face. We are a very welcoming and supportive department where teamwork is at our core.
The successful candidate will benefit from a strong induction programme that will be tailored to their professional needs and experience. Positive relations and high expectations of our students and ourselves are key aspects to the culture of our school and we are looking for people aligned to our values in anything we do. We are committed to delivering the highest standards and our staff are proud to belong to the school. The future at Lowton is exciting! The conditions are perfect for us to continue our journey towards being exceptional in all we do.
In applying for this role, you could be part of our exciting journey towards excellence. Early applications are encouraged and we reserve the right to close the vacancy early if a suitable candidate is found. We welcome applications from those seeking long-term permanent roles, but would be open to discussion around a fixed-term year where the role may support future training for roles within education.
