Main Purpose of the role: As a Nursing Home Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the home. As a regulated business, we expect the candidate to be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and be familiar with all the relevant legislation and regulations. You will be responsible for ensuring that the home provides high-quality care and support to our residents, whilst meeting financial targets and maintaining full occupancy. You will be supported externally by dedicated Operations and Central teams, and within the home you will have the support of a Deputy Manager and Administrator, as well as Hospitality and Housekeeping teams. These teams will collaborate with you to ensure smooth operations and exceptional care for our residents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadership and People Management: To lead by example and develop effective teams within the home. Develop a positive working environment which nurtures and rewards good practice through a programme of training and development. Provide regular supervision and annual appraisal to Support Workers in line with the company’s procedures and standards.
  • Quality Management: Ensure the home is run in line with statutory and Vista Care policies and procedures. Ensure processes are in place and adhered to in line with the requirements of the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
  • Financial: Manage delegated budgets to ensure resources are used to best effect, in line with company policy and procedure. Report financial discrepancies to line management.
  • Management: Ensure information is collated and recorded in line with Quality Assessment System and CQC requirements. To attend reviews as appropriate.
  • Health And Safety: Ensure the home meets H&S regulations and guidance, complete RIDDOR and any reports as required. Ensure staff team completes H&S training as required.
  • Partnership Working: Maximise effective partnerships with mainstream and specialist services e.g. Health, Education, Employment, Leisure etc.
  • Equality and Diversity: Ensure equality in the workplace regardless of race, age, disability, gender, sexual orientation or religious belief.

PERSON SPECIFICATION At least 3 years recent experience of working Home Manager management level. Experienced in working in partnership with other professionals e.g. health, local authority, CQC. Must have an NMC Pin number.
