About the Role
We are seeking experienced
Panel Wirer to join our growing team delivering National Grid / SSEN and high voltage substation projects across the South East.
The successful candidates will be responsible for the assembly, wiring, testing, and modification of protection and control panels within the electrical transmission and distribution sector.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects supporting the UK's power network.
Key Responsibilities
- Point to point wiring of protection and control panels.
- Panel assembly and installation of electrical components.
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and GA drawings.
- Termination of multicore cables and control wiring.
- Carrying out panel modifications and fault finding activities.
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard of quality and safety.
- Maintaining accurate records and quality documentation.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Panel Wirer within substations, power, utilities, or industrial projects.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and wiring schematics.
- Experience wiring protection and control panels.
- Knowledge of National Grid, DNO, or transmission sector standards would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Driving licence
Desirable
- Previous experience on National Grid transmission projects.
- City & Guilds or NVQ qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- ECS or CSCS card.
- Substation experience within 132k V, 275k V, or 400k V environments.
