Are you looking for a rewarding Salaried GP post close to Manchester city centre? We have a new opportunity for two enthusiastic GPs to join our friendly team and cover maternity leave on a fixed‑term one‑year contract (initially), with potential to extend. This is an excellent opportunity to work in an aspirational, thriving practice alongside supportive, high‑calibre colleagues. We are heavily invested in teaching: we are a Salford GP Training Practice and a University of Manchester undergraduate training site, and we actively develop and mentor new educators.
What we're looking for:
- A commitment to delivering the highest standard of clinical care and patient safety as part of our team ethos.
- An adaptable, flexible colleague who shares our culture of mutual support — for each other and our patients.
- Availability for clinical sessions on Mondays, 9am–6.30pm, with on‑call duties on alternate Mondays, plus one of Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.
- Occasional flexibility (10am–8pm) may be needed to cover extended access on Mondays or our branch sites.

We are keen to support your development across clinical and non‑clinical areas, and have recently supported multiple newly qualified GPs through HEE fellowships.
The Practice:
- Two sites caring for 11,500 patients across the M6 and M7 areas of Greater Manchester.
- 2 Partners, 11 Salaried GPs, 6 GP Registrars, 3 Nurses, 4 HCAs, 2 Practice Pharmacists, additional ARRS roles, and a well‑organised, helpful reception team.
- High staff retention.
- High QOF achievement; CQC rated Good (2026).
- EMIS Web with AccuRx for messaging, triage and video consultation.
- Surgery Connect telephone system.
- Paper‑light practice with organised Docman workflow.
- Keen to innovate with technology, AI and automation.
The Role:
- Daily triage.
- Up to 13 patients per session (face‑to‑face or telephone), 15‑minute appointments.
- Low home‑visit numbers.
- Buddy system to cover leave and absence.
- Fair allocation of non‑patient‑facing work — Docman, lab results, prescriptions, supervision, visits and meetings.
