Qualifications
- The Nutritional Consultant/ Registered Dietitian must have a degree in his/her area of expertise or related field.
- Must have experience in providing nutritional services, along with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish the confidence and cooperation of patients and families from varied backgrounds.
- Must also have excellent oral and written communications skills and project a positive image in the community.
- Must be able to lift approximately 10-15 lbs. in order to transport presentation equipment and materials.
- Must have direct client contact in order to provide program activities.
Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide nutrition services to clients of LCHCS. This individual will also provide education to community agencies, organizations and schools as needed.
Normal Working Hours/Days
One day per month in our Fairfax office and one day per month at our Barnwell office. 8:30a.m. – 5:30p.m. with one hour break. Other hours and/or days as needed for program activities.
Job duties
- Provide in-depth nutritional assessments on HIV clients referred to him/her by LCHCS.
- Provide a written record of these nutritional assessments in a timely manner that can be useful to the case managers, providers, and clients.
- Provide LCHCS with completed credentialing information.
- Provide educational classes as requested for clients on nutritional aspects of HIV.
- Attend trainings necessary for LCHCS’s Diabetes Self-Management Education Program.
