We are working with a medium sized, established HIU & District Heating company who are looking for two experienced HIU Engineers to join the team, one in West London and the other in the North East London area. The business has been operating for over 10 years and pride themselves on their scheduling, the progression and training opportunities they can offer and their work life balance.
The business covers ESCO sites, Housing Association and domestic properties throughout the London area carrying out servicing and maintenance on Heat Interface Units, Metering and Billing systems and some plant room works. Their scheduling is second to none, they book in their visits in blocks meaning that when you go to a site for the day, you will have 5-6 jobs on that same site and then head home. They dislike sending an Engineer to more than one site in a day; their view is if you’re travelling somewhere, you stay there and complete 5-6 services and then head home, negating the need to struggle through traffic multiple times a day between jobs!
The company also believes in work/life balance. Their working hours are 08:00-16:30 with a 30 minute lunch break but they also pay you a guaranteed travel pay allowance of 2 hours per day (1 hour at the start and end of the day). However, once your jobs are finished, you can head home, meaning if you work efficiently and finish early then you can go home and still get paid for the full day! They also do not operate a call out rota so all work is Monday-Friday with overtime available at the weekend.
Very occasionally, they take on a new batch of sites from a Housing Association in other areas such as Cambridge or Southampton. When they do this, they go down to look at the assets and often find a portion for the metering & billing systems will need replacing. On the odd time this happens, they may ask you to travel down and stay in a different area for 1-2 days to get the systems back to where they need to be; however, everything is paid for including accommodation, food and additional payment for you.
They are looking to double their Engineering team in size across the next 12-24 months. As such, there will be progression opportunities available to move to Supervisor/Team Leader within that time. This is a mobile role so a full UK licence is required.
