Job Description
Field HIU Engineer role – Overview\\n\\nWe are working with an established service provider who work with Heat & Energy Network operations to look after their HIU and Metering & Billings systems. They are looking for a Field Engineer to join the team in London area. The company have been established for over 10 years with multiple offices round the country.\\n\\nAs a Field Engineer, you will travel throughout your local area carrying out servicing, breakdown, maintenance and some installation works on a range of Heat Interface Units, PAYG Meters and equipment.
They have a number of Engineers spread throughout the M25 so aim to keep everyone in their local area. They have several Engineers North of the river so are ideally looking for someone in South London area. You will work mostly in residential properties carrying out works.
The number of jobs can vary – if you are servicing HIU’s, you may have 3-5 jobs for the day, if you are working on a project for the metering & billing side, you will often be on the same site for a period of time carrying out just a couple of jobs a day.\\n\\nThe working hours are 08:30-5:00pm Monday – Friday with overtime available in the evenings and weekends however there is NO CALL OUT ROTA. They can also be flexible with start and finish time to fit around family life and believe in good work life balance.\\n\\nOne of the perks of this role is it is completely door to door. Your hourly rate is £20.00 per hour and you are paid from the minute you leave to the minute you get home.
This means that should you have an hour travel to site, complete your work then an hour travel home, you will be paid for a 10 hour day rather than the usual 8. Likewise, if you are unfortunately stuck in traffic for a long period of time, you are still getting paid for the entire journey. Because of this, your earnings tend to accumulate quite quickly.
