The Management Accountant at LCCC plays an integral role in the wider FP&A subsection of the Finance & Procurement Team by taking ownership of accurate reporting to both external and internal stakeholders, while collaborating with the FP&A team and wider business to improve the reporting suite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll journal postings and support the Assistant Management Accountant (AMA) to finalise Management Accounts postings.
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of Balance Sheet Recs, and submit the Trial Balance to DESNZ.
  • Work with the wider FP&A Team to monitor variances, analyse drivers and causes, and assist with supporting commentary.
  • Prepare monthly summaries in Power BI for Operational Costs, Capital Costs and scheme‑specific views for the CFO.
  • Prepare and send External Reporting Packs to DESNZ, internal packs to departments, and report KPIs to the Performance team.
  • Provide tailored support for departmental queries.
  • Own the finance review of the monthly sign‑off process, in collaboration with the People Team and the Reporting & Planning Manager.
  • Maintain existing Power BI dashboards, innovate and create new dashboards where opportunities arise.
  • Ensure non‑Levy funding requests are prepared accurately, submitted and settled by DESNZ.
  • Collaborate on the Excel accounts model and associated Trial Balance submissions to DESNZ.
  • Assist with the year‑end process and audit queries.
  • Provide flexible support to the wider Finance and Procurement teams on ad‑hoc requirements or urgent projects.
  • Offer peer support and coaching to less experienced team members.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Essential

  • Fully qualified or finalist accountant with a recognised body (CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAEW, ICAI, ICAS or equivalent).
  • Commercial experience in finance, including management reporting and variance analysis.
  • Produce work on a timely basis while maintaining quality.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with business intelligence tools and data visualisation.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Excel and ERP system/software experience.

  • Identify, improve and streamline processes.
  • Flexibility to meet challenges of a growing business.
  • Proactive, ‘can do’ attitude and full ownership of work.
